Douyin API Integration
Last updated: 1 September 2026
This page describes how Pulse integrates with the Douyin Open Platform API, for the purposes of Douyin's API registration review.
1. Which company operates the system
Pulse is operated by Fumei (Shanghai) Education Technology Co., Ltd. (福美(上海)教育科技有限公司), a company registered in Shanghai, China, operating under Formee Holdings. Fumei is the developer and operator of the Pulse platform and is responsible for this Douyin API integration.
2. What features and functions the system provides
Pulse is an AI-assisted marketing content platform. It lets brand teams generate images and video with AI, review and approve that content, schedule it, and publish it directly to the social media accounts they connect — including Douyin — from a single dashboard. Once connected, Pulse can publish approved video content to a user's Douyin account and show publishing status back inside the app.
3. Who is authorised to use the system
Using Pulse requires a registered account (email + password) inside a workspace. Only workspace members with the Admin or Brand Admin role can connect or disconnect a Douyin account for a brand. Connecting a Douyin account authorises Pulse to publish on behalf of that specific, verified Douyin account only after the account holder explicitly completes Douyin's own OAuth consent screen.
4. How users can connect their Douyin accounts
From inside a brand's workspace, an authorised user clicks “Connect Douyin”. Pulse opens Douyin's official OAuth authorization page in a popup window. The user logs into Douyin (or is already logged in) and explicitly approves the requested permissions on Douyin's own consent screen. Douyin then redirects back to Pulse with an authorization code, which Pulse exchanges server-side for an access token. Douyin credentials are never entered into or seen by Pulse.
5. How account data will be used
Data received from a connected Douyin account (access/refresh tokens, basic profile information such as display name and avatar, and video publishing status) is used solely to operate the feature the user requested: authenticating the connection, publishing content the user explicitly chooses to publish, and reporting the status of that content back to the user inside Pulse. We do not sell Douyin data, use it for advertising, or share it with any party outside of operating this integration.
6. How data will be stored and protected
Douyin access tokens are stored encrypted at rest in our database and are only decrypted server-side at the moment a publish action is performed. Application data, including connection records, is hosted on secured cloud infrastructure with access restricted to authorised Fumei personnel. All data in transit uses standard transport encryption (TLS).
7. How users can revoke Douyin authorisation
Users can disconnect their Douyin account at any time from inside Pulse (Brand → Connected Accounts → Disconnect), which immediately deletes the stored tokens from our database. Users can also revoke Pulse's access directly from Douyin's own account settings at any time, independent of Pulse.
